The Choir of St. Colman Church, soloists and chamber orchestra.

A modern, ravishing and moving setting the ancient words of a‘Requiem’ by the 20th century’s most successful choral composer and the baroque setting of Christianity’s oldest hymn that has served as the model for all the rest.

JOSEF RHEINBERGER:  Concerto in G for organ and strings
GEORGE FREDRIC HANDEL:  Concerto in D, Opus 7 No. 4
FRANCOIS POULENC: Concerto for organ, strings and tympani 

Craig Jaynes, organist with string ensemble and tympani.

Three enormously varied pairings of music for the organ and strings which explore the variety of ways the two contrasting musical expressions can interact to produce stunning results.

Individual concert tickets may be purchased at the door prior to each concert for $15.00, provided seats are available.

Season tickets are for both concerts. If you order by mail and pay by check, the tickets will be sent to you (if you order after October 1, you can pick them up at the ticket table on October 13). Your tickets may be used by anyone, your choice. Note: the advantages to purchasing season tickets are that you save five bucks and are guaranteed seating in the reserved section toward the front of the church.

Additional contributions have made possible the more extensive musical offerings of recent years, especially the chamber orchestra, which would be impossible otherwise. The concerts are not a money making venture, and certainly don’t break even based on ticket sales alone.
