About the choir

The Choir of St. Colman Church is a highly dedicated group of volunteers who regularly sing the 9:00 am Mass on Sunday mornings in addition to many Holy Day and Special Services during the year, from late summer to approximately mid-June.

Membership in the choir is open to persons of high school age and older who have a love of singing and who are willing to make the time commitment to rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30.  The ability to read music is helpful but not required; dedication to the choir’s mission of providing the best possible sacred music for the worship of God is expected.

The choir sings a wide range of repertoire, from the ancient plainchants to the best of the modern composers, but always focused on serious performance and music of particularly high quality as related to its ability to add breadth and depth to the meaning of the words.

Persons interested in the choir should contact the Music Director, Craig Jaynes, for a chat (H: 937-675-7055; C: 937-654-1302).  An audition is not required but the chat is helpful for determining suitability and voice placement.
